Rhode Island-style Johnny Cakes

New England johnny cakes are thin cornmeal pancakes, traditionally pan-fried in oil. Our Dirty version uses the same simple ingredients but can be cooked in a nonstick skillet or oven. Delicious served with both sweet or savory toppings, they make a great base for any meal or alongside your favorite stew, chili or soup.
